About the Fuel
Our flueless fireplace range are fuelled by eco-friendly denatured ethanol—more commonly known in Australia as methylated spirits—which is a renewable liquid fuel that is easy to buy and easy to use.
Ethanol is produced from agricultural by-products such as sugarcane, grain, potatoes, corn and grapes to name a few. The combustion of this green energy results in a clean emission of heat, steam and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is absorbed by plants and processed via photosynthesis to help the plant grow, therefore the infinite cycle of creation and combustion of energy makes bio-ethanol a carbon neutral fuel source.
As there is no smoke or harmful fumes produced when burning ethanol, there is no need for a flue. All the heat generated stays in the room, making it an effective and efficient heating source.
Denatured ethanol (also known as methylated spirits) is available from most hardware stores and grocery outlets, generally in 4L & 20L quantities. We also provide the 20L drums for sale from our store.
